From fine arts to fun runs to fall festivals, here is a look back at some of the highlights. VA Sec. of Education Atif Qarni visits Cville Schools for Healthy Schools and Farm to School Week. CHS Marching Black Knights perform "Starry Knights." They captured 1st at regionals. Father and daughter share breakfast and a book at Johnson School's annual Donuts with Dads. The annual Clark Buzz by Belmont 5k Fun Run added a Kids Dash to the event this year. Elementary students visiting UVA to hear the Charlottesville Symphony. TheatreCHS students rehearse "Scenes from The Arabian Nights" before placing in the state top 6! Fall artwork by a Greenbrier second-grade artist. The CHS Debate team competed in its first competition. Congratulations to John Emery and Maisie Fischman for taking home the bronze in Varsity Public Forum, Dani Szabo for a bronze in Varsity Lincoln-Douglas, and Hamada Al-Doori for a great first debate! CHS Farm to Market class learns about goat caretaking during Farm to School Week. Walker students "Mix it Up" Day provides opportunities to get to know each other better at lunch. Cole Fairchild and William Inigo are 2018 National Merit Scholar Semifinalists. Miss Joy, a 90-year-old veteran teacher, volunteers in the Book Buddy program at Jackson-Via Elementary School twice a week. A fourth grade publishing party at Burnley-Moran lets students share their writing with parents and friends. Johnson School celebrates its annual International Day with student projects, authentic food, and families. Buford and Walker School students and teachers hosting parent-teacher conferences in their communities. Students tying knots, safely landing parachutes, reconfiguring puzzles and moving boulders with crash cars at Walker's 2018 iSTEM Survival Night.
