STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

STEM education is integrated into all levels of learning at Charlottesville City Schools. From technology education in elementary school to a world-class high-school science club called BACON (Best All-Round Club Of Nerds), CCS celebrates investigation and applied science learning for students.

In 2014 and 2015, the division unveiled state-of-the-art engineering labs at Buford Middle School and Charlottesville High School.  The Buford engineering program is a collaboration with the engineering and education schools at the University of Virginia, the Smithsonian Institution, and other area school divisions.
