Kindergarten Registration Forms Are Posted Online! Bring Your Child to School on April 25!
Save the date to bring your child to our Kindergarten Visit Day on Thursday, April 25, from 9-2 or 4-6. Appointments are recommended -- sign up below.|

Bring your child to school to:
  • see the school!
  • get help with registration forms
  • provide the required documents for registration (see below)
  • meet with teachers for a quick child screening
Complete your registration in advance or we’ll help you register during the visit day. (Find step-by-step registration instructions below.) Upload your required documents with the secure online forms, or bring them to the school on visit day!

Want to save time when you're visiting the school? Complete the online student registration forms in SchoolMint now. 

Click-by-Click Steps to Register Your Child in SchoolMint:

  1. Go to ccs.schoolmint.com

  2. Create an account or log in (if you already have a child in Cville Schools, you may have an account from last year; there’s a password reset if you need it)

  3. Check the upper right corner to verify you are in the 2024-2025 year 

  4. Add a new student if the student doesn’t already appear; if the student already appears, click “Add Forms” on the rising Kindergarten student tile

  5. Complete the Student Information page and click "Save & Continue"

  6. Choose the Elementary School tile and finish the registration form. You can securely upload the required documents or bring them to the open house

What are the required documents to enroll in Charlottesville City Schools?

  • Original birth certificate (or certified copy)
  • Proof of residency
    • Mortgage, lease, real estate tax statement OR
    • Driver’s license or government-issued photo ID plus current utility bill (electric, gas, water/sewer)
  • A completed “school health entrance form” showing that the child has received a physical examination performed by a physician within a year of enrollment.  
    • Suggestion: Call your doctor’s office to ask if they’ll fax your child’s form to your school. Fax numbers are listed below.
  • A completed immunization record (part of the “school health entrance form”)
  • Custody or guardianship paperwork (if necessary)
  • Don’t have everything? Bring what you have to the school, and they will help you.

Note: School divisions are required to accept students who meet residency requirements under § 22.1-3 of the Code of Virginia and may not deny a free public education to undocumented school-age children who reside within their jurisdiction because they do not hold valid United States citizenship or a student visa.
