Let's go band! Today Charlottesville High School Band Director Jason Hackworth was recognized by 99.7 CYK's Pam Garrison as the station's Teacher of the Month.

Some of Mr. Hackworth's recent accomplishments as band director include the Wind Ensemble earning a rating of Superior, the highest rating possible performing at the hardest difficulty level, at the VBODA District 13 Concert Assessment. No other school in the district achieved this level. Additionally, two of his students, Michelle Wong and Julia Crum, earned spots in the All-State Band. 

Mr. Hackworth also recently led the band on a trip to Nashville for music workshops, visiting iconic sites like the Grand Ole Opry, and competing on the national stage.
