The Charlottesville City Schools calendar committee has drafted academic calendars for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school year. While the survey is now closed, you can find both draft calendars here. The Board will be discussing and voting on these calendars at upcoming meetings in November and December.

• Both calendars have school starting on the 2nd Wednesday of August (like this year). 
• The calendars have many commonalities with the draft 2025-26 Albemarle County Public Schools calendar. For instance, for both divisions, classes would start on August 13, 2025 and end on May 29, 2026. Thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break are all aligned, as well. 
• Spring break would begin with a half day on Friday for students (and a half workday for staff).
• The 2025-26 calendar (with 179 days) and 2026-27 calendar (with 180 days) are nearly identical. We are presenting calendars for two years at a time in response to community feedback that families and staff appreciate advanced planning time.
